The client
Broadland Wineries is a family-owned business founded in 1965. It is home
to a four-acre site, bottling 22million litres of wine a year from countries
such as Australia, Argentina, Chile, California, Hungary, France, Spain,
Italy & South Africa.
The requirement
Broadland Wineries recently undertook a major investment to enhance both
the bottling & packaging of their product.
Broadland had a requirement for finished bottles & boxes of wine from
the new bottling plant to be palletised & stretch wrapped prior to
dispatch.
Various layer patterns were required to suit each product & the system
had to handle both Chep & Euro pallets.
The solution
Blackstar Engineering offered a combination of both new & refurbished
equipment. This consisted of a new package infeed conveyor supplied from
Bieffe, a re-furbished Ocme Palletiser modified by Blackstar Engineering,
a pallet dispenser modified to suit both Chep & Euro pallets, which
fed a Mancon fully automatic ring wrapper.
Linking this equipment was a new conveyor system designed & supplied
by Blackstar Engineering.
The full system was assembled at Blackstar Engineering & fully tested
prior to dispatch. Blackstar arranged for the transport to Norfolk and
loading & unloading of the equipment. The full system was then installed
to meet the customer’s production start up schedule.
Blackstar ensured successful production was achieved & operator training.
